Description
Surrounded the woodland heights above, the world-famous, over 900-year-old Wartburg Castle looks upon the town of Eisenach. On this spot, Martin Luther translated the New Testament into German; Richard Wagner and the Holy Elisabeth lived here as well. Today, the Wartburg museum houses a broad variety of art treasures across eight centuries.
