Between Deichtorhallen and Baumwall lies the 100-year-old district of Speicherstadt, the world's largest continuous warehouse complex. Upon arriving, visitors are met with a tranquility they could hardly have expected in a global port: Wilhelminian Gothic bricks from the early days of industrial expansion, bizarre gables and little towers are reflected in the canals.
